Having recently purchased a small strip mall in the retail district of Harrisonburg, VA, our client approached us with the request to generate a conceptual rendering showing a new and refreshing take on an otherwise dull and dated elevation. While given a free hand in the aesthetic approach, our design was limited by the existing unreinforced masonry structure. With the weight of new cladding systems and the additional forces added by wind on new screening and elevation elements to careful consideration was made of the existing structural limitations.
